From November 2023 until September 2024, Gaia will be on display in the Long Room of the Old Library at Trinity College Dublin. The aim of Gaia to highlight the beauty and fragility of the Earth chimes with that of the Old Library Redevelopment Project to safeguard the 18th century building and preserve its precious collections for future generations.
“It is very fitting that Gaia will be displayed in the Old Library while it undergoes this landmark conservation project. It makes me think of all the knowledge gathered and protected in libraries around the world. Preserved over millennia and shared with thousands allowing society to grow. The development of humanity is based on knowledge passed down over time from our ancestors.” Luke Jerram
Alongside Gaia, visitors to the Old Library will also be able to discover Ireland’s greatest cultural treasure, the Book of Kells.
