The United Nations International School of Hanoi is one of only two UN schools in the world. Founded in partnership with the United Nations and the Government of Vietnam, UNIS brings together students from 65 nationalities to learn, serve and lead for a better world. Their presentations of Gaia in October 2025, both at the school and out in the public realm, reflect that mission, to inspire and empower learners to build a better world, starting in Hanoi.

From 6 – 25 October and again for UN Day on 7 November 2025, Gaia was presented in the sports hall of the school. A dynamic programme of events aimed at engaging a wide range of audiences included visits from local schools, government agencies, embassies, Chambers of Commerce, Service Learning partners, as well as a city wide fashion show and a sleepover, movie nights and musical concerts for the students.

At UNIS Hanoi, Gaia was more than an art installation—it was a movement. An extensive exhibition experienced on the way to the Gaia installation was a call to action for their school community and beyond. The event represented their commitment to fostering environmental awareness, inspiring change, and taking tangible steps towards a more sustainable future. Students, educators, and partners all came together to create an immersive experience that highlights the beauty of our planet, the urgency of conservation, and the power of collective action.

Gaia at UNIS Hanoi captured the attention of the media in Vietnam and beyond — highlighting its powerful message about sustainability, climate action, and global citizenship. As one of the first exhibitions of its kind in Vietnam, Gaia invited visitors to reflect on the interconnectedness of humanity and the planet. The installation served as both an artistic experience and a learning platform for students and the wider community.

From 28 October – 2 November 2025, was on display at Vuon Hoa Lac Long Quan, beside the iconic Double Ceramic Dragons on the shore of Tây Ho Lake. Following its three-week display on the UNIS Hanoi campus, where it was experienced by more than 3,000 local students and 2,000 members of the UNIS community, along with diplomats, government officials, artists, educators, and United Nations representatives, Gaia extended its reach to the wider public of the city, thanks to UNIS Hanoi.

Bathed in soft light and surrounded by Hanoi’s skyline, Gaia in Tay Ho invited visitors to reflect on the beauty, fragility, and unity of our shared home.
